THE LEADER AND THE HEADER

HEADER versusLEADER
An organization formed to achieve a goal. In the implementation of the achievement of that goal, management is required so that the achievement of the goals expected to be maximally existing resources within the organization. The activities of organization undertaken within an organization can be seen in the chart of the organizational structure itself. The more plural of organization's goals is shown by the big chart structure. In addition to organizational goals, big or small the organization also affects the organizational structure chart. To see the activities in the organization chart can be known from the organizational structure.
In addition to the organizational structure that describes the job mentioned about the main duties and functions of each section of the structure chart. In addition, also mentioned personnel who are responsible for the position. Someone who sits in a position in the organizational structure is usually called a "leader" or "header". Two of these concepts have meaning in a similar reason are have the authority to commanding the  subordinates have  to do the basic tasks and functions of his position within the organization.

But apparently the "LEADERSHIP" with the "HEADERSHIP" has a fairly significant differences.
The difference can be described as follows: (Homoman, 1986)
1. Leadership:
  • Approved by members of the organization in terms of utilization of organizational resources in the achievement of goals is done by agreement between the lead by being led.
  • Use bottom up planning, it means the planning in the utilization of organizational resources in achieving the goal always come from subordinates input 
  • Imposed by the individual who is a member of the organization so that individuals can carry out activities that lead to the achievement of a conscious and organized because it was clear about the goals of the organization

2. Headership
  • Applicable to members of the organization in terms of  organizational resources in achieving the goals is to use the led by the lead
  • Implemented without requesting approval from members of the organization means any action taken more top-down planning with no digging or input from the organization's needs
  • Enforced through a system organization utilization means the organizational structure in performing their duties and functions without having to understand and be understood members of the organization about the purpose of the organization.

Someone who has the leadership, of course, will have headership but not necessarily a headership have leadership.


The question is : Are we the leader or the header ?
The answer is : how  we use the subordinates and the resources of organization to achieve the organization's goals.
